Influx of asylum seekers in June 2022

In June 2022 the total influx of asylum seekers (the total of first and repeat asylum applications and persons on a journey in connection with family reunification) was 3,985. With respect to the preceding month this is an increase: in May this was 3,339.

The top 5 countries of origin of asylum seekers who submitted asylum applications in June 2022 comprise: Syria (1,918), Turkey (430), Yemen (261), Afghanistan (213) and Eritrea (150).

First asylum applications

The number of first asylum applications in June was 2,474. In May this was 2,312. The top 5 countries of origin of asylum seekers who submitted first asylum applications are: Syria (918), Turkey (292), Afghanistan (209), Yemen (196) and Eritrea (87).

Transfer from Afghanistan
Of the 209 first asylum applications mentioned for the country of origin Afghanistan, 120 applications were submitted by persons who were transferred from Afghanistan to the Netherlands.

Repeat asylum applications

The number of repeat asylum applications in June was 118. In May this was 126. The top 5 countries of origin of asylum seekers who submitted repeat applications are: Iran (17), Iraq (16), Nigeria (16), Pakistan (10) and Algeria (6).

Persons on a journey in connection with family reunification

The number of persons on a journey in connection with family reunification entering the Netherlands in June was 1,391. In May this was 901. The top 5 countries of origin of persons on a journey in connection with family reunification comprise: Syria (996), Turkey (137), Yemen (65), Eritrea (63) and Stateless (24).

UMFN

The number of asylum applications submitted by unaccompanied minor foreign nationals (UMFN) in June was 267. In May this was 282. The top 5 countries of origin of UMFN are:
Syria (129), Eritrea (38), Yemen (18), Afghanistan (14) and Somalia (13).
