Asylum inflow in March 2021

​In March, the total asylum inflow (the total of first and repeated asylum applications and the family members joining the asylum seekers) was 1.834. That is an increase compared to February (1,360). The largest increase can again be found in the group of family members joining the asylum seekers.

First asylum applications

The number of first asylum applications was 1,023 in March. In February it was 777. The top 5 of the countries of origin of asylum seekers who submitted a first asylum application is: Syria (321), Algeria (92), Afghanistan (81), Morocco (61) and Pakistan (52).

Repeated asylum applications

The number of repeated asylum applications amounted to 139 in March. In February, it was 120. The top 5 of the countries of origin of asylum seekers who have submitted a repeated asylum application is: Afghanistan (19), Iran (17), Nigeria (11), Eritrea and Morocco (10), Iraq (8).

Family members joining the asylum seekers

The number of family members who entered to join asylum seekers has risen in a row for the second time. In March, that number was 672. In January, that number was 364 and in February - 463. The top 5 of family members joining the asylum seekers consists of: Syria (354), Eritrea (74), Turkey (73), Yemen (62) and Iran (28).

Amv

The number of the asylum applications submitted by single minor aliens (AMV) was 89 in March. In February, that number was 82. The top 5 of the countries of origin of AMV is: Syria (47), Morocco (14), Algeria and Somalia (5), followed by Afghanistan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Libya and unknown (fewer than 5).
