The Diplomatic Identification Card

The Diplomatic Identification card is for persons who have a privileged status. This status gives them certain special rights and legal protection. The Diplomatic Identification card is a Dutch identity document. The document also gives a right of residence in the Netherlands and entry to the Schengen Area. The document is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Probas Personal Records Database

Personal data about privileged persons is registered in the Probas Personal Records Database. This database also contains the Diplomatic Identification card issued. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs manages the Probas Personal Records Database.
Privileged persons do not have to register at the IND. Nor do they need to be registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP).
