Appointment to collect your residence document or original document

Would you like to make an appointment, but have you just returned from a country or region that has an orange or red travel advice? Please stay in quarantine for a period of 10 days and schedule your appointment after this period. For more information, check the website government.nl.

When can I collect my residence document?

Did you (or your sponsor) receive a letter from the IND to collect your residence document? Then please make an appointment at the IND desk stated in the letter.
It is currently very busy at the IND desks. Almost all dates for making an appointment are occupied. Check the online schedule regularly, as dates can become available every day due to cancellations.

Are you a United Kingdom (UK) national, or the family member of a UK national, and you do not have the nationality of an EU or EEA country or Switzerland? Your residence document will be delivered to your home until the end of 2020. You can find more information on 'Delivery of residence document after Brexit'.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

  • Your valid passport or other travel document.

Are you collecting a residence document for a child born in the Netherlands? Please bring one of the following:

  • Your (the parents) valid passport or residence document, and
  • The valid passport or (copy of) birth certificate/proof of registration at the municipality (BRP) of the child.
  • Your appointment code. You will receive this in an email confirmation when you make an appointment online.
  • Your (expired) residence document. Or the official report of loss or theft from the police (if your residence permit has been lost or stolen).

You must collect your document yourself from the IND Desk. Children under 18 years are required to collect their document together with a parent or legal representative.

Did you receive an invitation letter in which it says that your residence permit is in Maastricht? Then you can make an appointment at the Expat Centre Maastricht Region.

Other important information


​Did you receive a letter stating you still have to pay? Then you can pay the costs immediately in full at the IND desk. Payments can only be made in cash or by debit card. No payments can be made by credit card.
