Message box (Berichtenbox) MijnOverheid

The IND uses the Berichtenbox from MijnOverheid. The Berichtenbox is your private, secure message box for digital mail from the Dutch government. You can also receive your mail from the IND in this message box.

Advantages

  • Quick - you will immediately receive an email when you have received mail (a decision, for example) from us. 
  • Organised - your mail is always available and can be printed if needed. 
  • Secure - the messages in the Berichtenbox are secured via DigiD.

How it works

  1. Go to the MijnOverheid website. This website is available in Dutch only.
  2. Log in using your DigiD or a European-recognised login method.
  3. Go to 'Instellingen', then scroll to 'Organisaties Berichtenbox'. Under 'Landelijke organisaties', select 'Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst'.
  4. You will get an email from MijnOverheid when you have received mail from the IND. Log in to MijnOverheid or the Message Box app to read it.

New email address

Did you change your email address? Then change your email address at MijnOverheid. If you do not do this, you will not receive mail notifications anymore. You then might miss important mail. 

Do you also use My IND? Then also change your email address in My IND. 

My IND

The IND also has its own system in which you can find information: My IND. In My IND you will find your mail about your application that are still being processed. 

You can find mail from closed applications in the Berichtenbox.
