Message box (Berichtenbox) MijnOverheid

The IND uses the Berichtenbox from MijnOverheid. The Berichtenbox is your private, secure message box for digital mail from the Dutch government. You can also receive your mail from the IND in this message box.

Advantages

  • Quick - you will immediately receive an email when you have received mail (a decision, for example) from us. 
  • Organised - your mail is always available and can be printed if needed. 
  • Secure - the messages in the Berichtenbox are secured via DigiD.

How it works

  1. Go to MijnOverheid.nl. Choose English in the right-hand corner for information on MijnOverheid in English.
  2. Log in with your DigiD. Click the button 'Log in to DigiD'. From the Dutch homepage click 'Inloggen met DigiD'. Do you not yet have a DigiD? First apply for this on the website of DigiD.

  3. Follow the instructions for your situation:

    You log in to MijnOverheid for the first time

    Follow the instructions of MijnOverheid. You must, for example, fill in your email address and a few personal preferences. You also choose from which organisations you wish to receive digital mail. Tick the box Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) under 'Landelijke organisaties'.

    You have used MijnOverheid before

    But you do not yet receive mail from IND. Go to 'Instellingen'. Tick the box Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) under 'Landelijke organisaties'. 

New email address

Did you change your email address? Then change your email address at MijnOverheid. If you do not do this, you will not receive mail notifications anymore. You then might miss important mail. 

Do you also use My IND? Then also change your email address in My IND.
