Uploading documents for your online application

​When submitting an application online you often need to upload documents. For example, a copy of your passport. On this page you can find out more about creating a digital version, and uploading documents with your online application.

You can upload pdf and jpg files

The IND only accepts uploads in pdf or jpg file format. In some applications it is possible to upload a jpeg-document. 

The IND cannot open a pdf portfolio. Please, make sure when merging multiple pdf documents to one, that you do not make a portfolio of these documents.

You can transfer files to a computer or mobile device in multiple ways. This is called digitising.

Upload documents with your online application

Do you have all the documents to accompany your application saved as pdf files on your computer or mobile device? Make sure that your documents are clearly named. The online application will show you when you need to upload which document.

Upload additional documents to an application you have already submitted

You want to upload one or more additional documents. The additional documents are then added to your application. This is only possible if you have not yet received a decision on this application. Are you an authorised representative? Then you can not upload additional documents.

You need the case number for the upload. You can find the case number on the confirmation of receipt. You can upload multiple documents up to 40 MB. You can upload up to 8 MB per document.
