IND optimistic about migration in coalition agreement
The IND is optimistic about the agreements on migration in the coalition agreement presented by the coalition parties CDA, D66 and VVD on Friday 30 January. At the same time, the service is once again calling for attention to be paid to the abolition of the judicial penalty payment.
Director-General Rhodia Maas: 'The political parties clearly have an eye for the feasibility of their agreements. I am pleased about that. The proposed simplification of the asylum procedure will help us enormously. I am very much looking forward to stable funding for the IND. This is something we have been asking for, for a long time. And the abolition of judicial penalties remains important. Because it does not lead to the IND making decisions any faster, but instead costs us time and society far too much money.'
