Meaningful internships
During an IND internship, you will gain practical experience that ties in with your degree, while also doing valuable work for society. We will give you plenty of opportunity to grow and develop, regardless of whether you are interning or doing a final thesis project. And who knows, after your internship, the IND might offer you the chance to progress to a traineeship or a job, so you can keep investing in yourself and in a meaningful future.
Internships for all levels and fields
We offer internships for MBO to university students in all fields, from finance and HR to operational management, ICT and legal. You can even intern in one of our specialist departments. Together with your internship supervisor, you will choose your very own internship programme, even picking your own final assignment.
How to apply
If you are interested in an internship at the IND, the first step is to visit WerkenvoorNederland for a list of all open internships. If you cannot find the right internship for you, send an e-mail to stage.IND@ind.nl.
Include the following attachments with your application:
- CV
- Cover letter, explaining why you are interested in an internship at the IND
As the IND receives a large number of internship applications, we only process complete applications. So, make sure to include both your CV and a cover letter. Once we have received your this, we will contact you as soon as possible.
Application information
- When can you apply for an internship?
- Internship applications for periods starting in September are reviewed from March until 1 July.
- Internship applications for periods starting in February are reviewed from October until 1 December.
We need time to process all applications and make the best possible matches.
- We cannot help everyone, but we try our best.
Workloads at the IND are high, and processing residence applications and naturalisation requests is always our priority. This means we cannot always accept every internship application or research project right away. However, we do our utmost to create as many opportunities as possible for students and interns.
