Short stay after end of residence permit

Your regular residence permit is expiring and you will not continue to live in the Netherlands. You wish to stay in the Netherlands for an additional maximum of 90 days after the end of your permit. Read what to do.

You have been given a return decision

Has your residence permit been withdrawn and has a return decision been imposed? Then you have to leave the Netherlands. You are also not allowed to stay in another country in the Schengen Area. Read more about a return decision.

Check whether you need a visa

After your regular residence permit has expired, you can stay in the Netherlands and the Schengen Area for an additional maximum of 90 days. Sometimes you need a Schengen visa for this. First go to Nederlandwereldwijd.nl and check whether or not you need a visa.
