Appointment to collect document
When to make an appointment
You can only make an appointment when your document is ready. We can inform you about this in 3 ways:
- You have received a letter
The letter from the IND states that your document is ready. And where to collect your document. - You have received a message in My IND
My IND states that your document is ready. It also shows the letter from the IND. In this letter, it says where to collect your document. Does My IND state that your document is ready, but does it not show the letter? Please call the IND. - You have received an SMS
The text message from the IND states that your Foreign Nationals Identity Document Type W is ready. And where to collect your document.
Make an appointment
In the letter or text message from the IND, it says where to collect your document. You can only pick up your document at that specific location. Do you make an appointment at another location? Then we will cancel your appointment.
After Thursday 20 March, the IND Service Point in Nijmegen will be closed. From 21 March, make an appointment at the IND desk in 's-Hertogenbosch.

Do you live in the province of Zeeland or a municipality in the Brabantse Wal? You can make an appointment at the IND Service Point in Goes.
Collect Foreign Nationals Identity Document type W2
Have you received a letter to come collect your W2 document? Then you can only make an appointment by calling the IND.
Collect document in person
You must collect your document yourself. You cannot have someone else do this for u. Children under 18 years are required to collect their document together with a parent or legal representative.

What to bring to your appointment
open minusBring the following documents to your appointment:
- Your valid passport or other travel document.
- Your appointment code. This code is in the email you receive when you make an appointment online.
- Do or did you already have a residence permit in the Netherlands? Or a Foreign Nationals Identity Document (VI) type W or W2? Then bring your (expired) residence document or VI.
- Have you lost your residence document or Foreign Nationals Identity Document (VI) type W or W2? Or has it been stolen? Then bring the report of the loss or theft reported to the police.
Appointment for a child born in the Netherlands
As the parent of the child, you must bring the following documents to the appointment:
- Your valid passport or valid residence document.
- The child's valid passport, or the (copy of) birth certificate, or the (copy of) registration of the child in the Personal Records Database (in Dutch: Basisregistratie Personen or BRP) at the municipality.

Paying costs for your application
open minusDo you still have to pay the application fee for your application? You pay the entire amount at the IND-desk or IND Service Point. The preferred way of payment is by debit card or contactless. But you can also pay with cash. Payment by credit card is not possible.

Reschedule or cancel an appointment
open minusHave you made an appointment, but are you unable to attend? It is not possible to reschedule your appointment. There is a link in the email with the appointment confirmation. Click on that link and cancel your appointment. And then make a new appointment.
Have you made an appointment for multiple people? You can only cancel the entire appointment and not for just 1 person.
