The coronavirus

The IND has received several questions following the reports on the coronavirus.

At present, the coronavirus has not yet been detected in the Netherlands. Therefore, there is no immediate reason to adjust our procedures. When this does happen, we will inform you through our website.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet issued a negative travel advice for China. If the travel advice changes, we will inform you through our website on how this will affect our procedures. The information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is leading for us.

The procedures have not changed for individuals who are already in the Netherlands with a short stay visa (type C). This means that, for the time being, there is no immediate reason for a general policy to extend visa for individuals who do not wish to return to China because of the coronavirus. There is, at present, also no reason to change the mvv-procedures for Chinese nationals.

For more information on the coronavirus, please visit the website of the RIVM.
