More than three-quarters of the Dutch population believe that the Netherlands should receive refugees who have fled their country due to a war or persecution.
This appears from the survey Experiences of the Dutch Central Statistical Office (CBS). The CBS analysed the attitude of the Dutch population towards the refugees.
The survey shows that in 2017, 77 per cent of the adult population is of the opinion that the Netherlands should receive refugees. Eight per cent do not think so and 15 per cent are neutral about it. There is less support for the economic migrants.
The survey Experiences is carried out annually. The aim of this survey is to get a better picture of the feelings and viewpoints in the society based on views, perceptions and opinions of the residents of the Netherlands. This year some questions about refugees and economic migrants were added.
