Asylum trends in November 2019

In November the total influx of asylum seekers (the total of first and repeated asylum applications as well as for family reunification) was 2.573. This is a decrease compared to October, when the total influx was 2.691.

First asylum applications
The total number of first asylum applications in November was 2.082. That is a decrease compared to October (2.098). The top 5 countries from which most first asylum applications come are Moldavia (366), Syria (349), Algeria (121), Nigeria (120) and Iran (83).


Repeated asylum applications
The number of repeated asylum applications in November was 131. This is a decrease compared to the previous month (October: 198). The top 5 countries of origin of asylum seekers who submitted a repeated asylum application consist of Iraq (19), Afghanistan (13), Iran and Syria (11), Gambia (8) and Nigeria (6).


Dependents
Fewer dependents entered in November (360) than in October (395). The top 5 most dependents originated from consists of Eritrea (144), Syria (143), Yemen (21), stateless (16) and Afghanistan (7).

Unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (AMV)
The number of asylum applications submitted by unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (AMV) was 93. This is a decrease compared to October (113). The top 5 countries of origin consist of Syria (25), Morocco (10), Afghanistan (8), Algeria, Eritrea and Gambia (7) and Iraq (6).
