First asylum applications
The total number of first asylum applications in April was 1,877. This is almost the same as in March: 1879. The top 5 countries where most first asylum applications came from were Syria (248), Nigeria (230), Iran (190) Turkey (116) and Algeria (108).
Repeat asylum applications and persons travelling for family reunification purposes
The number of repeated asylum applications in April was 254. This is a slight decrease compared to March(313). The top 5 countries of origin of asylum seekers who submitted repeat applications are Afghanistan (35), Iran (32), Iraq (32), Syria (18) and Algeria (17).
The number of persons entering the Netherlands in April for family reunification purposes showed a decrease with respect to March, namely 214 compared to 231.
The number of asylum applications submitted by unaccompanied minors (UAMs) was 93, an increase compared to March (78). The Top 3 countries of origin are Syria (17), Morocco (14) and Eritrea (9).
